Uploading Existing EAC Certificates to act50

Updated over 3 weeks ago

If your organisation already buys renewable electricity β€” through a green tariff, a Power Purchase Agreement, or by purchasing EACs directly from a registry or broker β€” you don't need to buy certificates again through act50. Instead, upload proof of your existing purchase.

How to Upload

  1. Log in to your act50 account and go to the Facilities screen

  2. Find the relevant facility

  3. Click the + button on the right-hand side of that facility row

  4. Upload your proof of purchase

Once uploaded, the consumption for that facility will update to show it's been addressed.

What Counts as Valid Proof?

Valid documentation includes:

  • A retirement statement from a recognised registry (NAR, M-RETS, APX, REGO certificate, GO confirmation, or I-REC retirement record)

  • A letter from your energy supplier confirming renewable sourcing

  • A confirmation from your EAC broker

The document should clearly show the volume in MWh, the certificate type, the vintage year, and ideally a unique certificate number or serial range.
