Reports in Measure

An overview of Measure's downloadable reports

Reports are spreadsheets of your inventory for one reporting period. Find them under Reports. For most questions about your emissions, the Measure Data Export is the one you want.

Measure Data Export

Every consumption record for the period with its emissions: activity, scope, facility, service dates, usage, prorated usage, renewables, emission factor details and CO2e. A second sheet, Emissions Detail, breaks emissions down by gas.

Supplier Emissions Report

Your suppliers' calculated emissions: totals, breakdowns by category and intensity metrics. It doesn't include your own Scope 1 and 2.

Organizations with Supply Chain

Create a report

  1. Go to Reports and create a report.

  2. Choose the report type and the inventory period.

  3. For the Measure Data Export, choose a GWP version: AR4, AR5 or AR6.

  4. Download the file when it's ready.

Each report type is created once per period. To get updated numbers later, open the report and choose + Generate new file.

Who can create reports? Users with the Operator Manager role can create, generate and delete reports. View-only users can download files that have already been generated.

Your Scope 1 and 2 totals

The quickest way is the Emissions Analysis page. It shows your totals by scope for the selected year, and lets you switch Scope 2 between location-based and market-based. For a file you can share, use the Measure Data Export.

Scope 1 and 2 from the Measure Data Export

  1. Generate a Measure Data Export for the year, as in Create a report above.

  2. On the first sheet, filter the Emissions Scope column:

    • s1 for Scope 1

    • s2-lb for Scope 2, location-based

    • s2-mb for Scope 2, market-based

  3. Add up the Emissions CO2e Value (mtCO2e) column.

Don't add s2-lb and s2-mb together. They're two ways of counting the same electricity, so each Scope 2 record appears under both. Where you have no renewable or contract instruments, the two values are the same.

Rows with a Data Status of Gap mark missing data, and they have no emissions.

A summary by scope and category

Measure doesn't have a report with totals rolled up by scope and category yet. Until it does, you can make one from the Measure Data Export with a pivot table:

  • Rows: Emissions Scope, then Activity Category

  • Values: sum of Emissions CO2e Value (mtCO2e)

Large organizations

If your organization has tens of thousands of consumption records, a Measure Data Export can take up to 30 minutes to generate. Start it, come back later, and download it from the report. If it fails, contact your Green Project team.
