Data Quality Checks: Automated Check, Manual Review and Notifications

Updated over 3 weeks ago

Automated Quality Checks

When you submit your data, Green Project immediately runs automated checks on completeness, reasonableness of your emissions intensity, year-over-year trends, Scope balance, and internal data consistency.

If all checks pass, your data may be accepted immediately. If issues are flagged, you'll receive notification within 24 hours with a summary and guidance on each issue.

Manual Review

Some submissions go to manual review by our data quality team β€” typically when your submission raises questions automated checks can't resolve, when data is close to passing but needs clarification, when your company is new to Green Project, or when your customer has requested enhanced verification.

Manual review typically takes 3–5 business days, and we'll contact you if we need clarification.

Responding to Notifications

If your submission is flagged: review the notification to understand what issue was detected, investigate your source documents, revise your submission or provide an explanation, resubmit or upload clarification, and monitor your status in the submission dashboard.

πŸ’‘ There's no penalty for initially flagged data. The goal is accuracy, not perfection on the first try. If you're unsure how to respond, ask our support team for help interpreting the flag.
