Supplier-specific emission factors
Increase your Scope 3 accuracy with supplier-specific EFs.
Emissions intensity is a key metric that measures a company’s carbon emissions relative to its revenue. This allows buyers to compare suppliers across industries and regions, and to use the metric in their emissions calculations instead of relying only on industry emission factors.
Green Project’s approach
Green Project calculates emissions intensity using emissions data that suppliers have provided or that is publicly available online, together with revenue information for the reporting period. This creates a consistent basis for comparison across all suppliers in the program and provides valuable insights to you and your customers.
While there are various ways to measure emissions intensity, Green Project uses emissions per revenue as the standard metric. This approach:
-
Ensures comparability across different industries and geographies
-
Helps identify opportunities for emissions reductions based on business size and activity
-
Provides a simple, scalable method for tracking decarbonization progress over time
What’s new
We now calculate emissions intensity for suppliers without you having to engage them. If a supplier has data publicly available, we use it to create an emission factor, and we review its data quality before applying it in your calculations.
These emission factors are visible on your Suppliers Overview page in Analyse.
