Resolving Data Quality Issues
What is a data quality review?
After you submit your Corporate Carbon Footprint or Product Carbon Footprint, our Data Quality Review team checks your data for accuracy, completeness, and consistency. If any issues are found, your submission will be flagged and you'll be notified to resolve them before your profile can be marked as compliant.
This is a normal part of the process — it's designed to ensure that the data your customers see is both complete and reliable.
How will I know if there's an issue?
You'll receive a notification letting you know that your submission requires attention. When you navigate to your profile, you'll see a Resolve Data Quality Issues prompt in the relevant section.
Resolving issues with your Corporate Carbon Footprint
- Navigate to your profile and go to your Corporate Carbon Footprint section
- Click Resolve Data Quality Issues
- Read the comment from our Data Quality Review team — this will explain specifically what failed and how to fix it
- Navigate to the part of your Corporate Carbon Footprint that needs editing
- Click the Edit button (pencil icon) on the relevant section
- Make your corrections:
- If you submitted an emissions data form: Review your numbers against your methodology report and re-enter more accurate data where needed
- If you uploaded a purchase data file: Re-upload the file with more complete or corrected expenditure data
- If your revenue figure was flagged: Double-check that the revenue you entered is accurate and aligns with the reporting period
- Save your changes
Once you've followed the instructions from our team and corrected the flagged items, your data will be re-reviewed. If any further adjustments are needed, we'll let you know.
Resolving issues with your Product Carbon Footprint
Data quality issues for Product Carbon Footprints are flagged at the individual product level. To resolve them:
- Navigate to your Product Carbon Footprint section
- Find the product that has been flagged
- Click Edit on that product
- Review the feedback — you'll receive specific details on what failed
- Make corrections as needed — for example, re-uploading your Bill of Materials with corrected data
- Save and resubmit
