How to Improve Your Decarbonization Score (Insufficient → Gold)

Your score reflects the data you’ve provided and the sustainability actions you’ve taken. Below is what each level means and what you need to do to reach the next one.

Insufficient

Why you’re here: Your submission is marked as Insufficient because key data is missing — specifically Scope 1 & 2 emissions and/or revenue.

How to level up (to Starter):
Submit:

  • Scope 1 & 2 emissions, and

  • Revenue.

Starter

Why you’re here: You’ve reached Starter by submitting Scope 1 & 2 emissions and revenue.

How to level up (to Bronze):
Do one of the following:

  • Submit your Scope 3 emissions (recommended if you have them available), or

  • Submit at least one Product Carbon Footprint (PCF).

Note: If you submit Scope 3 emissions, you may also need to pass data quality checks for corporate emissions intensity, depending on your submission.

Bronze

Why you’re here: You’re at Bronze because you’ve provided either:

  • Scope 3 emissions, or

  • At least one PCF.

How to level up (to Silver):
Set a Science-Based Target (SBT).

This can be done through:

  • The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), or

  • A Science-Aligned target validated with Green Project Technologies (where applicable).

Silver

Why you’re here: You’ve achieved Silver by setting a Science-Based (or Science-Aligned) Target.

How to level up (to Gold):
Engage your supply chain in sustainability efforts, for example by using Green Project Technologies to invite suppliers and track progress — or by providing evidence of your supply chain engagement activities. For more: How Can I Reach Gold Status?.

Gold

Why you’re here: Congratulations — you’ve reached the highest level, Gold, by actively engaging your supply chain.
