Do EAC purchases reduce Scope 1 and Scope 3 emissions, or only Scope 2?

The purchase of EACs is used only for Scope 2 emissions.

EACs represent renewable electricity and allow you to report lower or zero emissions under the market-based Scope 2 method. They do not apply to Scope 1 (direct fuel use) or Scope 3 (indirect emissions from your value chain).

To reduce Scope 1 or 3, you would need other approaches, such as switching fuels or working with suppliers.
