Completing the Supplier Engagement Section

Why does supplier engagement matter?

For most companies, the vast majority of emissions don't come from their own operations — they come from the supply chain. Scope 3 supply chain emissions typically account for over 70% of a company's total carbon footprint. Measuring your own impact is essential, but real progress means working with the businesses you buy from to understand and reduce their emissions too.

Customers increasingly expect their suppliers to be doing the same with their own supply chains. This section is where you demonstrate that.

What does this section ask?

The core question is: Do you engage your suppliers to collect emissions data or drive decarbonisation?

You'll follow one of two paths depending on your answer.

Path 1: "No, not yet" – Work with Green Project

If you're not currently engaging your supply chain, we can help you get started through our Engage 50 programme.

What Engage 50 offers:

Benefit Description
Streamlined data collection No more chasing spreadsheets by email — suppliers submit data directly on the platform
Automated workflows Suppliers are guided through the engagement process step by step
Scalability Works whether you have 50 suppliers or thousands
Real-time insights and reporting See your supply chain emissions data as it comes in
Dedicated support A team to help both you and your suppliers through the process

To get started, click Book Initial Call and we'll walk you through how it works.

Path 2: "Yes, we do" – Tell us about your programme

If you already engage your suppliers on emissions, you'll provide details about your programme:

Field Description
Programme launch date When you first started engaging suppliers on emissions data or decarbonisation
Engaging 250+ suppliers? Whether your programme covers 250 or more suppliers (Yes/No)
Percentage of Scope 3 emissions engaged The proportion of your total Scope 3 emissions covered by your engagement programme. This is a key metric — it shows the depth of your engagement, not just the number of suppliers
Provide tools to suppliers? Whether you offer tools to help your suppliers calculate and reduce their own emissions (Yes/No). This demonstrates that you're supporting your supply chain, not just requesting data
Link to programme (optional) A URL to your supplier engagement programme or public-facing information
Additional details (optional) Any other relevant information about your programme (up to 300 characters)
